It's time MP's were required to take an oath of office that means something. they should be required to swear allegiance to the Australian people and to protect the rights and best interests of the people. they should swear to obey the laws; to respect democratic principle; to respect the office and the elected member; to abide by the decision of the people; to accept and allow the program mandated by the election process; to conduct themselves in a manner worth of great dignity and honour of their position; and to be honest and just in all dealings to do with their public role. It's Time. Yes, it is bloody well time.
Beautifully articulated - exactly what I think and I'd bet most Australians too; ( and other countries) we are so fed up of all the silliness, corruption; we want common sense and can put our X, not with dread, but confidence.
